WHAT BIOSPECIMENS AND DATA DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE FOR RESEARCH?

I want to access the Program's biospecimens and/or data to complete a research project. How do I do this?

I want to store biospecimens and data from my study in the Program's biobank. How do I do this?

The Program has over 10,500 samples from adult and pediatric patients with chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, acute kidney injury, and more. The samples include whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, urine pellet, DNA, kidney biopsy blocks, kidney biopsy digitized slides. We also have de-identified kidney biopsy report data and urinalysis, co-morbidities, medication lists, and other data on the participants who have donated their samples.

I want my patients to participate in the target-kd initiative. How do I do this?

So long as you are a practicing nephrologist associated with the University of Calgary, you may recruit patients who will be going to a kidney biopsy  from the University of Calgary Medical Clinics, Sheldon Chumir Clinics, Sunridge Clinics, and the Alberta Children's Hospital.

Please have your patients complete the below consent form and place it back into their chart. Collection kits are available on the units listed above (not required for pediatric patients) and may be given to the patient at the time of consent.
